Sweaters

All hand-knitted items are produced on the Faroe Islands or in Jordan, as part of our Women Empowerment project.

A great share of the machine knitted items are produced from organic yarn. All production is placed inside the European Union to assure decent working conditions. The designs are classic - often with a twist that makes it special, but always timeless.

The Killing 2 sweater

This very simple and extremely well fitted sweater is just now used by the character Sarah Lund in the Danish TV series Forbrydelsen - the Killing 2. The sizes are a bit small, but the sweater is supposed to be fitted. It will grow approximately 1/2 size when used a bit. See also size-guide.

This hand-knitted organic sweater has a deep v-neck to wear over a top or a t-shirt. Casual, warm and made of organic Faroese yarn with the very special dry look. The fur-like neck-line is a brave contrast to the dry look.

This hand-knitted sweater is so delicate that some costumers mentioned that is was transparent as seeing an x-ray. There is a very fine contrast between the fine kid mohair and the dry Faroese yarn. As an extra details the edges are lines with a thin line with Japanese paper yarn.

This hand-knitted sweater is hand-dyed which gives an antique look. On the right side of the body there is a half-moon knitted in a rib yarn to give a detail that's more obvious if you wear it over a light t-shirt. The sweater started as a mens piece, but ended up being a uni-sex piece.

This organic dress is the long version of the classic best selling round neck blouse. Good if you just want your blouse long or with leggings as a dress. As it's very thin, it can be folded casually for the length you want just that specific day.

This hand-knitted organic alpaca sweater is the super-soft alternative to the sweater traditional in Faroese yarn. The colour range is different as it's also here only the natural colour of the animals that are used.

The high-neck eco-wool sweater is for the mornings that are too cold to wear a shirt, but where you are supposed to wear a nice jacket. Very thin, so the is no volume under a jacket, but still good and warm.

Until we developed this series I did not know that copper could be used for garment. But yes it does work very well. The copper makes the material crumple, making the fine silk rougher. The copper is also shining a bit, giving the cardigan a golden light.

The Faroese are crazy about this sweater and now we will introduce it to the world. The key-word is good fit and easy to wear. Nobel, but not boring, with a splash of colour without being noisy. Can be worn always with almost everything.

I know this will become a classic. Organic, raw look, good fit, can be machine washed and comes in various nice colours. I do believe this is the recipe for a classic. The popular rose and blue are back in stock

The light cotton sweater is a one-size piece that does fit a lot of different figures. The ribs at waist and sleeves give a hold while the knit is loose.

The Naomi sweater is named after Naomi Campbell. It is hand-knitted on the Faroe Islands. The story behind it is that when the very young newly educated designer started making knitwear, she sold this specific model to Naomi Campbell in the boutique of Sabine Poupinel in Copenhagen. We are all happy for this - as this was a great motivation for focusing on the hand knit.

The hand-knitted asymmetric sweater is combining chunky alpaca with light mohair. Slim in the upper part and with volume at the bottom. The asymmetric model adds the detail that only hand-knit can do - the arty line when the two materials meet.

This model is the second one in the row of classics in Faroese organic wool. The often heard story is that after having used the star pattern sweater for a while, this one is bought for having a second choice in the closet - maybe in reverse colours from the other. This sweater was also used by TV character Sarah Lund (Sofie Gråbøl) in the Danish TV-series "Forbrydelsen" (the crime).

The first thing I feel like telling about this hand-knitted sweater is that it gives an amazing figure. The v-knit has a slimming effect that does not require fitness or starvation. The shift of wool and mohair in the stripes gives a special texture and the knots seems like pop-corn popping up on one of the stripes.
